MaxhealthTM originated in 2005, developed by a vet with the aim of producing a dog food that would not trigger allergies or intolerances in sensitive dogs. It is sold in and around major centres, but is also available on national retail websites like Pet Hero. The aim of MaxhealthTM is to change dog diets from those based on intensive farming of land animals, to a diet high in fish protein and rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for dogs’ brain and eye development as well as healthy skin and coat.

MaxhealthTM caters for various breed sizes and provides food options for dogs at their different life stages. There are small and regular kibble sizes available to ensure a comfortable eating experience. What makes MaxhealthTM unique is the absence of tallow (cooked fat) and meat by-products like fat and digest, which are used to make dog food more palatable. Despite MaxhealthTM being made to reduce allergic reactions and intolerances, they still believe that all dogs should get treats, so they developed a vegetarian Truffle Mini Snack to satisfy those puppy-dog eyes.
