Advantix for x-large dogs 25 kg and over is indicated for the treatment and prevention of bugs like sand and stable flies, mosquitoes, ticks and fleas. The tick repellent works for a month and bug infestations are controlled for up to four weeks. Never use on cats, at it is extremely poisonous to cats and also refrain from using on dogs smaller than 10kg.

What is the best way to store Advantix?

Advantix comes in a pack of 4 pipettes. 1 pipette per dog per month. Store the remaining pipettes in the original box in a cool dark place.

  • Repels and kills ticks on dogs for up to 4 weeks

  • Ticks already on your dog may not be killed within 2 days after treatment may remain attached and visible. Therefor the removal of ticks already on the dog at the time of treatments is recommended.

  • Kills fleas on your dog within 1 day and prevents infestations for at least 4 weeks.

  • Kills fleas before they can lay eggs.

  • Kills flea larvae in your dog’s surroundings.

  • Controls flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) in dogs.

  • Provides repellent (anti-feeding) activity against biting flies for up to 4 weeks

  • Kills mosquitoes and provides repellent activity for 2 to 4 weeks

  • The combination of actives works synergistically for enhanced neurotoxic effect on parasites.

  • Can be used and pregnant and lactating bitches.

  • This product should not be used on puppies of less than 7 weeks of age and 1.5 kg weight

Do not use on Cats

  • Apply to intact skin only.

  • All tubes should be used within 18 months after opening the foil pouch or before the expiry date on tube, whichever is shorter.

  • For easy application the animal should be standing

  • The product should be applied evenly to 4 spots on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail.

  • Part the hair, place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin.

  • Do not get this product in your pet’s eyes or mouth.

  • Monthly treatments are required for optimal control and prevention of ticks, fleas, flies and mosquitoes.

Swimming and shampooing:  The product remains effective if the animal becomes wet.  If the dog needs to be bathed, this should be done before product application.  Wait until the dog is completely dry before applying the Advantix. This could take up to a day depending on the hair density and length.  Frequent shampooing or daily swimming may have an effect on the duration of the efficacy of the product.


DO NOT USE ON CATS:  Due to their unique physiology and inability to metabolise certain compounds, this product must not be used on cats.  To prevent cats from accidentally being exposed to Advantix, keep treated dogs away from cats until the application site is dry.  Do not allow cats to groom the site of application on a dog which has been treated with Advantix.  Seek veterinary advice immediately if this occurs or if a cat is accidentally treated with advantix.

In the absence of available data the product should not be used on puppies of less than 7 weeks of age and 1.5 kg of weight.

  • Handle with care

  • Store in a cool dark place away from food

  • Keep out of reach of children

  • Advantix treated dogs should not swim in an aquatic environment for 48 hours after treatment, as the product could be harmful to aquatic organisms.

  • On rare occasions reaction in dogs may include transient skin sensitivity or lethargy.

  • Consult your vet before using the product on sick and debilitated dogs.

  • Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure there of may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons.  If this is suspected, seek veterinarians advice and notify the registration holder.


  • Avoid contact with skin, eyes or mouth.

  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while applying or after application before washing hands thoroughly.

  • Prevent contamination of food, utensils, drinking water etc.

  • Wash hands thoroughly after use

  • Dispose of used tubes safely.

  • The solvent in Advantix may stain certain materials including plastics, leather, fabrics and finished surfaces.  Allow the application site to dry before permitting contact with such materials.

  • In case of accidental spillage onto skin, wash off immediately with soap and water. People with known skin sensitivity may be particularly sensitive to this product.

  • In case of eye contact, flush eye thoroughly with plenty of water,

  • If skin or eye irritation persists, or if the product is accidentaly swallowed, seek medical attention and show the package insert to the physician.
