The Striped sunflower seed is the same type of sunflower seed that humans eat, and you know how delicious these little kernels taste.  So why not treat your parrot or parakeet too. But beware, not too many as they are high in oil.

Sunflower seeds are one of the best seeds to have, especially for wild birds, because of its high oil content, but also contains protein, carbohydrates and fat.

Not only do parrots and large parakeets love the striped sunflower seeds but your garden birds like weavers, Canaries, buntings, Finches, Doves, Whydahs, Waxbills, Widowbirds will love them too.

Westerman’s Striped Sunflower seeds are available in a 1kg, 2kg, 5kg and a 25kg.

Feeding guidelines

Feed only the amount your bird can eat on a daily basis.  Do not overfeed as sunflower seeds are high in oil and your bird may become obese.

Do not allow the seed to get wet. Wet seeds can become toxic as they start to rot and could make your bird or the wild birds ill.  Change hanging feeds or feeding bowls regularly and wash and dry feeders and bowls completely at least once a month.
