Dogs naturally lose old or damaged hair by shedding. Shedding in a normal process for dogs, the amount and frequency of shedding all depends upon their health and breed and the season. During the winter, dogs develop a thick coat and in spring it has to come out. This is when you see lots of unwanted hair around the house or on you. The furminator deShedding tool will help your reduce the amount of loose hair from shedding! So, that means, less time cleaning and more time with your dog.

What is The Furminator Deshedding Tool?

The Furminator Deshedding Tool reduces shedding by up to 90 percent by removing the loose, dead undercoat without damaging the top coat.

Why should I buy this product?

Dogs that spend most of their days indoors, tend to shed all year round. A typical hair will take 4 - 6 weeks to complete depending on the breed. You will never stop your dog’s shedding, but you can reduce it with the Furminator deShedding Tool. The Furminator will remove any coat that has been shed, including the top coat (guard hairs) The undercoat is the culprit. The undercoat regulates your dogs body temperature. So in the summer months, your dog gets rid of this coat. Sometimes the hairs that have been shed gets trapped under the topcoat and this can cause mats or tangles. This is where the Furminator comes to the rescue.

How does the Furminator deShedding Tool work on my dog?

The tool needs to be used at least twice a week for 10 to 20 minutes each. The Furminator is fine to use on the ears and tail, it is non abrasive to the skin and removes the undercoat and loose hair.  Becareful, the ears and tail are sensitive areas, so use extra caution. Rather remove mats and tangles on the ears and tail before using the Furminator.  With regular use, you will notice a reduction in mats and tangles as you are coming out the undercoat each time.

We recommend using the FURminator deShedding Tool 1-2 times a week for 10-20 minutes each session. You may need to use the deShedding tool more frequently during heavy shedding seasons.

The deShedding tool is fine to use on the ears and tail. The deShedding tool is non-abrasive to the skin and removes the undercoat and loose hair. The ears and tail are typically sensitive areas for most pets, so extra caution will need to be taken when brushing these areas. Since the ears and tail typically mat easily, we advise to check for and remove mats and tangles before using the deShedding tool. With regular use, you should see a reduction in the amount of mats and tangles that form in the ears and tail because you are removing the undercoat that gets caught in the topcoat causing mats to form.
