The furminator deShedding tool will help your reduce the amount of loose hair from shedding!

Cats like to groom themselves, and they swallow up a lot of their loose hair resulting in hairballs that are very messy and stressful to your cat.

What is The Furminator Deshedding Tool?

The Furminator Deshedding Tool reduces shedding by up to 90 percent by removing the loose, dead undercoat without damaging the top coat.

Why should I buy this product?

Cats, especially indoor cats, shed year round. Each hair goes through a hair cycle, exactly like human hair. The cycle may take 4 - 6 weeks, depending on the breed. You will not be able to stop your cat shedding, but you can reduce shedding by using the Furminator deShedding Tool. The Furminator will remove any coat that has shed from your cat’s skin. This includes the topcoat. The undercoat is the underlying problem of shedding and is the majority of hair that you see around the house.

Will the Furminator deShedding Tool work for my cat?

The tool is designed to remove the undercoat and loose hair without cutting or damaging the topcoat on double-coated breeds (Persian, Maine Coon, Scottish Fold, Manx and Norwegian Forrest). The deShedding tool removes the undercoat and loose hair.

‘Non-shedding” breeds (Bengal, Russian Blue, Burmese, Devon and Cornish Rex, Siamese and the Sphynx) have single or no coats. If your cat does not have an undercoat, there is no hair for the deShedding tool to remove.

We recommend using the FURminator deShedding Tool 1-2 times a week for 10-20 minutes each session. You may need to use the deShedding tool more frequently during heavy shedding seasons.

The deShedding tool is fine to use on the ears and tail. The deShedding tool is non-abrasive to the skin and removes the undercoat and loose hair. The ears and tail are typically sensitive areas for most pets, so extra caution will need to be taken when brushing these areas. Since the ears and tail typically mat easily, we advise to check for and remove mats and tangles before using the deShedding tool. With regular use, you should see a reduction in the amount of mats and tangles that form in the ears and tail because you are removing the undercoat that gets caught in the topcoat causing mats to form.
