Hill’s Science Plan Perfect Digestion Large Puppy Food with chicken and brown rice contains ActivBiome+. This Hill’s exclusive blend of prebiotics nourishes your pup’s unique microbiome and assists your puppy in reaching her full potential. This microbiome is defined as “the combined genetic material of the microorganisms in a particular environment.” Gut microbiomes are the millions of tiny organisms that live in your dog’s intestines for a healthy digestive tract.

About 70% of dog and cat immune systems are found in this GI tract. Through extensive research, Hill’s has found that nutrition that nourishes favourable bacteria can be highly beneficial to pets. Hill’s ActiveBiome+ Technology is a direct result of this research. It promotes systemic pet health, starts working quickly, and transforms microbiome metabolic function.

Your pet needs these prebiotics that feed desirable bacteria in your pet’s gut and produce short-chain fatty acids and other helpful end products by the bacteria. For example, these fatty acids are critical for human gut health.
