Advocate kills fleas and prevents re-infestation for a month. Advocate helps to control dermatitis caused by an allergic reaction to fleas. Advocate also treats ear mites and sarcoptic mange. It furthermore prevents heartworm disease and treats hookworm, whipworm and ascarid infections, as well as biting lice. Advocate for dogs is poisonous to cats. Don’t treat puppies with Advocate if they’re younger than 7 weeks.
What is Advocate?
Advocate is a topical prevention and treatment of mixed parasitic infections on dogs and puppies 7 weeks of age and weighing over 1.0 kg.
Why should I buy this product?
In the last decades, due to travelling and climate change, parasites have conquered new territories, and with their spreading, the threat of parasitic diseases or diseases transmitted by parasites has also grown. Thus, broad-spectrum prevention is becoming more and more important, not only because of the health risk for the individual animal but also to protect the whole population against the spreading of parasitic diseases.
Advocate is a so-called endectocide, a single product effective against both ecto- and endoparasites like fleas, lice, mites and different types of worms.
It is approved for different indications in cats, dogs and ferrets. Advocate is applied once a month on the skin on the back of the animal (“spot-on”) in one or several spots, depending on the animal’s body weight. The active ingredient against fleas and lice, imidacloprid, then distributes on the entire skin while the active against worms and mites, moxidectin, penetrates the skin and enters the bloodstream.
Thus, Advocate provides convenient, continuous and broad protection against numerous parasites threatening wellbeing, health and, in some cases, even the life of pets.

-
Twist cap to break the seal, then remove the cap from the tube.
-
For easy application, your animal should be standing.

Part the hair on the dog’s neck at the base of the skull until the skin is visible.

Apply only to undamaged skin.
-
Apply one tube to one dog
Flea treatment and prevention: Treat the dog at 4 weekly intervals. One treatment prevents future flea infestation for 4 weeks.
Ear mites: A single dose of the product should be administered. All loose debris should be gently removed from the external ear canal. A subsequent veterinary examination 30 days after treatment is recommended as some animals may require a second treatment. DO NOT APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE EAR CANAL.
Sarcoptic mange: A single dose should be administered twice 4 weeks apart.
Demodectic mange: A single dose administered 2 – 4 times at 4 weekly intervals is efficacious against Demodex canis and leads to a marked improvement of clinical signs.
Roundworm and hookworm treatment: If Advocate is being used solely for intestinal worms, then treatment every 3 months is recommended. If Advocate is used for flea control or heartworm prevention, monthly treatments may significantly reduce the risk of re-infection of intestinal worms.
Water exposure: Brief contact of the animal with water on one or 2 occasions between monthly treatments is unlikely to significantly reduce the efficacy of the product. However. Frequent shampooing or immersion in water directly after treatment may reduce the efficacy of the product.
