Directions for Use

Do not use on Cats

• Apply to intact skin only.

• All tubes should be used within 18 months after opening the foil pouch or before the expiry date on the tube, whichever is shorter.

• For easy application, the animal should be standing

• The product should be applied evenly to 4 spots on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail.

• Part the hair, place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin.

• Do not get this product in your pet’s eyes or mouth.

• Monthly treatments are required for optimal control and prevention of ticks, fleas, flies and mosquitoes.

Swimming and shampooing:  The product remains effective if the animal becomes wet.  If the dog needs to be bathed, this should be done before product application.  Wait until the dog is completely dry before applying the Advantix. This could take up to a day depending on the hair density and length.  Frequent shampooing or daily swimming may have an effect on the duration of the efficacy of the product.

WARNINGS:

DO NOT USE ON CATS:  Due to their unique physiology and inability to metabolise certain compounds, this product must not be used on cats.  To prevent cats from accidentally being exposed to Advantix, keep treated dogs away from cats until the application site is dry.  Do not allow cats to groom the site of application on a dog which has been treated with Advantix.  Seek veterinary advice immediately if this occurs or if a cat is accidentally treated with Advantix.

In the absence of available data, the product should not be used on puppies of less than seven weeks of age and 1.5 kg of weight.

• Store in a cool dark place away from food

• Keep out of reach of children

• Advantix treated dogs should not swim in an aquatic environment for 48 hours after treatment, as the product could be harmful to aquatic organisms.

• On rare occasions, a reaction in dogs may include transient skin sensitivity or lethargy.

• Consult your vet before using the product on sick and debilitated dogs.

• Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons.  If this is suspected, seek veterinarians advice and notify the registration holder.

PRECAUTIONS:

• Avoid contact with skin, eyes or mouth.

• Do not eat, drink or smoke while applying or after application before washing hands thoroughly.

• Prevent contamination of food, utensils, drinking water etc.

• Wash hands thoroughly after use

• Dispose of used tubes safely.

• The solvent in Advantix may stain certain materials including plastics, leather, fabrics and finished surfaces.  Allow the application site to dry before permitting contact with such materials.

• In case of accidental spillage onto skin, wash off immediately with soap and water. People with known skin sensitivity may be particularly sensitive to this product.

• In case of eye contact, flush eye thoroughly with plenty of water,

• If skin or eye irritation persists, or if the product is accidentally swallowed, seek medical attention and show the package insert to the physician.
